This collection is vital to the ongoing research on computing histories and memories in the South-Eastern European region. It highlights the stories and memories of women pioneers who have significantly shaped regional computing innovations, infrastructures, and cultures. These women were instrumental in advancing computer science and creative computing in former Yugoslavia and the post-Yugoslav space. The collection, which features interviews with women from different generations—including researchers, programmers, inventors, teachers, and entrepreneurs—aims to enhance comparative, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary studies of the socio-cultural contexts surrounding technological development in Yugoslavia and its aftermath. This collection was inspired by the COST action CA21141 "Grassroots of Digital Europe: from Historic to Contemporary Cultures of Creative Computing (GRADE)" (2022–2026).
The collection includes the material created by the Library of the Mathematical Institute, such as documents on the purchase or exchange of books and journals.
